This year's event, open to all NACC members, will be run over the weekend of the 19th/20th of June. If you're not yet an NACC member don't worry, you can still join in the fun as we can offer you temporary club membership for the duration of the event at a very modest fee of £3.00. So why not come along and join us in our gentle ramble through some of Northern England's finest scenery? From the golden beaches of the North East coast, through the picturesque Upper Tees Valley, over the gentle Pennine slopes to our overnight stopover in Britain's highest market town, Alston. Spend Saturday night out in Alston where you can wine and dine the night away in any one of the many superb hostelries. Then on Sunday morning blow the cobwebs away as you set off to climb the gentle slopes of Hart side Pass. Before the downhill plunge to Penrith and across through the Lake District to your finish at the west coast fishing port of Whitehaven. Sounds like a good way to spend the weekend doesn't it? Well it is as you are assured of good weather, as it's the start of summer. You can't get lost, unless you try hard, and you don't need lights as the sun shines until late at night. Why not enter as a `Team`, that we you all get a chance to ride including the van driver and his dog / sheep. You never know, you just might win the prestigious annual `Team Award`. If you have done the run before you will know not to ask anyone you know too well, it's easy to lose true friends this way. After all, the events just a friendly social weekend riding through 142 miles of gentle undulating countryside with other like-minded enthusiasts.
